CUNA’s Donovan to speak at World Council financial inclusion webinar – CUNA News

CUNA Chief Advocacy Officer Ryan Donovan will be one of several speakers at the World Council of Credit Unions’ International Advocacy webinar, scheduled for Sept. 29 at 9 a.m. ET. Registration is now open for the webinar, which is titled “Credit Unions and the G20: The Push for Financial Inclusion.”

The international credit union movement is urging the G20 to focus on the importance of proportionality as a way to increase financial inclusion across the globe.

The proper implementation of proportionality in regulations for smaller, cooperative depository institutions, such as credit unions, can greatly reduce inequalities and promote inclusive growth.

Proportionality can also, if applied appropriately, can significantly advance the G20’s goals of promoting financial inclusion by fostering responsible finance through increased access to affordable financial services.

This webinar will highlight the international credit union movement’s efforts to encourage the G20 to bring more attention to how cooperative financial institutions can increase financial inclusion across the globe.
