The Bank of Papua New Guinea under the Maya Declaration continues to show its commitment to support the work of financial inclusion to ensure individuals and businesses have access to financial products and services that meet their needs.

The central bank remains committed to working closely with Centre for Excellence in Financial inclusion (CEFI) in advancing their vision of creating financial freedom for all.

Bank of PNG Assistant Governor Ellison Pidik said this on Wednesday during the launching of Finance Finder by CEFI and Business Link Pacific at the Hilton Hotel in Port Moresby.

Mr Pidik said, the finance finder portal serves as tool for customers to search for the product they need in order to grow their businesses.

“I look forward to continuing this great working relationship we have with all key stakeholders and I assure you of our continued support to strengthen, diversify and consolidate PNG financial sector through inclusivity,” Mr Pidik said.

Mr Pidik said that, CEFI went into partnership with Business Link Pacific (BLP), which is a private sector development program that is funded by the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT), to carry out this initiative.

He said, with the right push, the financial sector in Papua New Guinea is showing signs of massive potential and with this come challenges and room for improvement which they plan to look at in the next phase of this project.
