The global cryptocurrency market continues to remain under pressure due to low trading activity and volatility over the past 24 hours.
Bitcoin, the world’s most popular cryptocurrency, was trading at $57,591 or 0.43 per cent lower than its value 24 hours ago at 12:30 pm. Bitcoin’s market capitalisation rose to $1.09 trillion and the trading volume over the past 24 hours increased stood at $1.04 billion.
Ether, the native cryptocurrency on the Ethereum platform, was trading at $4,421 or 3.14 per cent higher than its value 24 hours ago. The cryptocurrency’s market capitalisation rose to $519 billion and the 24-hour trading volume increased to $910 million.

While the two most popular cryptocurrencies saw a jump in valuation, other altcoins remain mixed.
Commenting on the cryptocurrency market momentum, Edul Patel, CEO and Co-founder of Mudrex, a global algorithm based crypto investment platform, said, “After a brief period of recovery over the past 24 hours, most of the top cryptocurrencies remained range-bound.”
“Such consolidations are always a good sign as they give the market a room to go higher.”
